  • Client Consultation: I initiated a request to select a pre-approved company for the branding package, specifically proposing Nordik Spa.
  • Approval Process: Formal approval was received from the client/professor, confirming the brand choice was appropriate for the project mandates.
  • Scope Definition: Communication ensured that even with a pre-approved brand, all original UX and design elements—such as a competitive audit and creative brief—remained part of the professional requirements.

Research & Discovery (Competitive Audit)

  • Strøm Nordik Spa Analysis: While the design followed strong hierarchy principles, dentified a critical "Weakness" in accessibility due to low color contrast and mixed typefaces that hindered readability.
  • Scandinave Spa Analysis: The site excelled at clear service descriptions, but the use of grey text on white backgrounds was identified as a barrier for users with vision impairments.
  • Spa Eastman Analysis: I noted that the lack of promotional content and blogs made the site feel static and less engaging for returning users.

Design System & Accessibility Standards

  • Color Palette: Established a nature-inspired palette including Deep Midnight Blue (#1A253F) and Warm Sandstone (#E5D2B2) to evoke tranquility while maintaining high contrast.
  • Typography: To solve the readability issues found in my research, I standardized the use of Quicksand Bold for branding and Nunito Regular for body text to ensure a legible user experience.
  • Iconography:  reated a line-based, minimalist icon set to reduce cognitive load and symbolize the fluid nature of water.
